Todd Jurkowski is the Deputy Cultural Attaché at U.S. Embassy Prague. Prior to the Czech Republic, he worked as a deputy spokesperson at the embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan. Other diplomatic assignments include São Paulo, Brazil and Mexico City.
Prior to joining the State Department, Todd was a television anchor and reporter in Florida. He won an Emmy Award for his reporting, which focused on politics. Todd also worked as a communications director for a member of Congress in Washington, D.C.
Todd’s great grandparents immigrated to the United States from Pisek and Prague. Todd is still learning Czech, and also speaks Spanish and Portuguese. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports, listening to music and reading. Todd is married. His wife also works at U.S. Embassy Prague. They have a 14-year-old daughter, plus a dog and a cat.
